The flats have heated up and so has the bite for redfish, snook, trout, and even the occasional cobia. Fishing from Tarpon Springs up to Hudson Beach has been great.
Trout from 2-7lbs have been all over the place and they are eating both artificial lures and live bait.
Redfish have been spread out but if you spend time hunting for them you can find small groups of fish from mid to upper slot with a few fish being caught recently that have been over slot.
Snook have kind of stolen the show this month as their numbers have seemed to exploded this year. Fish up to 15lbs have been caught on recent fishing charters and the average fish has been in the 20-30″ range. They’ve been keyed in on live sardines and are out at Anclote key as well as the local river mouths.
If you’re looking to get in on some great fishing action, now is the time. Make sure to give Capt. Will a ring!
